Crowds gather at popular festival for final ever event

In January, organisers revealed that Party in the Park in Bromyard won’t be coming back in 2026.

Announcing the news, organiser Richie Palmer thanked attendees for their support over the years.

“This year’s Party in the Park will be our last. Thank you for all your support. It’s been great for all of us on the Party in the Park committee to be involved and the thousands it’s raised for the Kempson Players for upgrading equipment and maintaining the park,” he said.

“Let’s make this year the best”.

Yesterday (May 3), the festival was combined with VE day celebrations as a “street party” was held at the fields.

Today (May 4), there are trailers selling pizza, wings, gyros, burgers and loaded fries as well as sweet treats like doughnuts and candy floss. There are various rides and forms of entertainment for children, including an inflatable slide.

Live music is in full swing this afternoon on the stage, with crowds gathering to listen.

Charlotte Moreau, who headed along to the festival earlier this afternoon, said: “The park was packed and there was a really nice atmosphere.”

Entry to the festival is free, but donations are suggested at £3 per person, with all profits going towards upgrading the playing fields.
