Winter Glow and Winston’s Wish partner to create magical moments for bereaved children
Winter Glow, the biggest Christmas event in the West Midlands, has announced its partnership with Winston’s Wish, the UK’s first children and young people’s bereavement charity which offers its support to grieving young people and their families in the local area.
The charity will take over the event’s illuminated light trail for the first ever Winston’s Winter Glow Wander on Sunday 1st December. The special event will offer Winston’s Wish service-users and supporters exclusive access to the magical Christmas light trail, which is located at the Three Counties Showground in Malvern.
The event aims to offer visitors the opportunity to make lifelong memories with family and friends at what can be an incredibly difficult time of year for those who’ve lost a loved one. The festive light trail has been created by local artists, lighting designers, and craftspeople to create a truly magical experience. Visitors will join Jingle, Winter Glow’s Head Elf, on a mystical adventure to find the Light Guardians and restore joy to the Winter Village folk.
Tickets for the event are available at a discounted rate, with all proceeds going directly to Winston’s Wish to help the charity continue to fund its vital support services for young people across the Three Counties and throughout the UK.
“We are thrilled to partner with Winston’s Wish and contribute to their invaluable work,” said Jenna Marks, Director at Winter Glow. “We’re on a mission to spread Christmas spirit across the three counties, so it’s a privilege to be able to provide a slice of magical escape to young people who are facing huge challenges in their day-to-day lives.”
Winston’s Wish offers a range of support for children and young people including online content and the Grief in Common Podcast series, as well as an on-demand live chat and freephone service. The charity also provides support to professionals working in education, healthcare, and community settings to assist bereaved children. By supporting Winston’s Wish, Winter Glow hopes to make a tangible difference in the lives of countless families.
Nicole Gerrard, Campaigns and Events Manager, at Winston’s Wish comments: “We are delighted to be partnering with Glow and are excited to be seeing our service users and supporters presented with the opportunity to enjoy what we know will be a magical experience during a time of year that can be very challenging. This event with Winter Glow will not only bring joy and comfort to bereaved children and young people but also help to raise awareness of our vital work and the support we offer.”
