A PUB in a Herefordshire village is shutting its kitchen after a difficult 18 months for the hospitality industry.
The Live Inn in Whitbourne, near Bromyard, said it had “tried hard” to keep services running as best as it can to support the local area.
But the continuing effects of the coronavirus pandemic, bosses have taken the “hard decision” to temporarily shut its kitchen, though some food will still be available.
As you will all be aware, over the last 18 months it has been a difficult time for hospitality and we at The Live have tried hard to keep our services running best we can to support the local area,” the country pub said.
“At this present time we have had to make the hard decision to temporarily close our kitchen.”
“We are hoping to open it up again as soon as possible but with current situation at the moment we have had to make this hard decision.”
Pizzas and filled baguettes will be served between midday and 2pm, and pizzas from 6pm to 9pm. Ice cream will also be available, it said, but no other food “for now”.
Barbecues will als be served up every Saturday, weather dependent, from 1pm until 5pm.
“We are still open for drinks and hope to create some events in coming weeks to attract more clientele to the pub,” bosses added.
“Hoping this will help build our trade back up and be able to support our kitchen in a much needed time.
“As you will know, this is such a big thing to do and has affected our team and will affect some of our regulars. It has not been taken lightly.”
The pub said it still wanted to see all of its customers, and that way it can “try and get back to the thriving, beautiful countryside pub” it said it once was.
