Main road near Hereford closed due to oil spillage

A MAIN road near Hereford is closed due to a fuel spillage and vehicle recovery, police have warned.

West Mercia Police said the A480 was closed between Hereford and Lyonshall, near Kington, and was likely to remain closed for much of the morning.

The road was closed between Credenhill and Norton Canon due to an oil spillage and recovery of vehicle, police said at 6.40am on Monday.

And in an update at 8.30am, officers said the road, from St Mary’s Church to Station Road via Upperton was likely to remain closed “until later this morning”.

They warned drivers to avoid the area and seek an alternative route.
