Thunder arrives in Herefordshire as weather warning comes into force

HEAVY rain, high winds, and thunderstorms have hit Herefordshire today (October 20).

A Met Office yellow warning for thunderstorms issued yesterday came into force at 4am this morning.

Thunder could be heard rumbling over Bromyard at 7am this morning.

The Met Office said an area of heavy rain and thunderstorms will move quickly eastwards across Wales and southwestern England into parts of central, southern and eastern England this morning.

Forecasters said many areas will see rain, with thunderstorms bringing heavy rain, lightening, strong winds, and possibly even hail to some areas.

Some flash flooding and travel disruption may affect some areas.

Conditions are forecast to turn calmer during the afternoon, with sunshine and showers.
