The local restaurant was pipped to the win by Skof, which has an overall Good Food Guide rating of “exceptional”.
Ahead of the event, Native chef Ivan Tisdall-Downes said: “To be recognised by a hospitality institution such as the Good Food Guide means a tremendous amount. It is testament to all the hard work that the team have put into making this restaurant what it is in such as short amount of time.
“The restaurants in our category are all amazing, and to have such wonderful restaurants in our region, shows that there is a light at the end of the tunnel for the hospitality industry!”
Native is known for offering hyper-seasonal, modern British, fine dining from wild food pioneers Ivan Tisdall-Downes and Imogen Davis. The restaurant is already listed in the Michelin Guide.
