Home plans for former strawberry-packing barn

The barn, located at Tre Essey Cross, will see the installation of solar panels and an air source heat pump, as well as the replacement of its current asbestos roof with black Welsh slate tiles.

The change of use from agricultural land to a residential garden is also part of the proposal, on a site granted under prior approval P230456/PA4.

The barn, originally built in the 1940s as a packing shed for strawberries, has more recently been used for storing crop produce and machinery.

The proposed six-bedroom dwelling aims to cater for multi-generational living, offering a spacious plot with privacy for neighbours.

The interior will focus on retaining the barn’s existing features, while the exterior will feature hedgerows to encourage wildlife.

The proposal also includes secure cycle storage in an outbuilding and wheelchair-accessible ground-floor facilities.
